Students gain firsthand exposure to leading U.S. education through:
Students learn how real-world innovation, venture capital, and product design shape the technologies of tomorrow.
STEM, Nature & Urban Culture Explorations
Seven hands-on STEM and cultural experiences bring learning to life:
- Science & Engineering: Exploratorium, The Tech Interactive, Golden Gate Bridge STEM challenge, USS Hornet aircraft carrier
- Nature & Ecology: California redwood ecosystems, Mangrove National Forest Park, Santa Cruz Beach STEM & sports day
- Urban Culture: Fisherman’s Wharf, Lombard Street, iconic San Francisco neighborhoods and landmarks
These activities connect natural sciences, engineering, and urban life, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving.
Two Thematic Study Tracks
Students choose one of two in-depth tracks:
Course 1: Robotics (Ages 10–12, Grades 6–8)
Using the VEX robotics platform, students:
- Build and program robots from scratch
- Learn about mechanics, circuits, sensors, speed & torque
- Complete terrain, transportation, and robotics sports challenges
- Follow the full engineering design process: brainstorm, build, test, improve
Course 2: Computer Programming (Ages 13–17, Grades 9–12)
Students dive into core programming languages:
- Python – algorithms, loops, conditionals, debugging, creative projects
- C++ & Java – data types, control structures, OOP, data structures & algorithms
- Options for Java Programming 1 & 2, with Git/GitHub and Eclipse IDE
Afternoon and evening enrichment activities include workshops, experiments, guest speakers, and visits to science venues.
Accommodation, Dining & Transport
- Week 1:
- San José State University Dorms (2 students per room, supervised, boys/girls separated)

- Transport by yellow school buses or chartered coaches
- Week 2:
- Stanford University Dormitories
- Meals in Stanford dining halls
- Sample day includes lab sessions, recreation, evening courses, and campus activities
