UmiVerse was founded by Nawal Benzaouia and Keyu Wang with a shared vision to create an inclusive and nurturing environment where children can grow through learning and creativity. Inspired by the Arabic word “أمي” Umi,” meaning mum, UmiVerse blends the care of a mother with the boundless potential of a universe filled with knowledge.

As a mother of two, Nawal Benzaouia is deeply passionate about education and believes in empowering children through reading, imagination, and creativity. Her experiences in early literacy and universal accessibility have driven her to create resources that inspire confidence, curiosity, and critical thinking in young learners. Nawal also brings her expertise as a professor, writer and advocate for inclusive education and learning opportunities for all children.

Keyu alias Cecelia serves as the China Field Director for UmiVerse, overseeing all educational field trips and institutional partnerships across the region.decided to partner with Nawal because of their shared belief in the positive eduction.

With over a decade of experience in early childhood education, curriculum design, and teacher training, Keyu has worked with top-tier education groups in China and brings deep insight into bilingual learning environments and pedagogical innovation. Her academic foundation and professional training were shaped by leading institutions in the education sector
